Yoga Resume

           Just like writing, closing my eyes, chanting rhythmic shlokas in sanskrit, the body twisting itself in a smooth flow is               meditative, a conversation I have with myself. 
          Some facts about my wellness journey: ​
  • I published my first yoga-inspired poem in Sillehoute magazine while I was still studying toward an MFA in creative writing at Virginia Tech. I started practicing yoga when I was 18 years old. Did it like clockwork, every single morning, weekends including.
  • 6 am in the summer; 7 in winters. Was fortunate to be instrumental in instilling a love for this ancient way of life in people from all walks of life, a variety of ages. 
  • "I want to take your voice in my purse, " a participant said to me after the conclusion of a class when I gave yoga instruction as a work study scholar at the Vermont Studio Center in Nov., 2017. 
  • Long before I was certified as an Internationally certified yoga teacher and instructor in 2015, I learnt finer meditative, wellness practices from a seeker of truth, a NASA scientist who, after being disappointed in his journey to find truth, dedicated his entire life to the research and teaching of yoga. Today, Dr. H.R. Nagendra is the chancellor of world's largest yoga university; he is also the yoga guru of the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.   • I believe whether it is the practice of yoga, meditation, or pranayama, it is a date with yourself, you are so much in love that the distinction between your self and you blurs to the extent that you fear losing your ego, although it is for a brief moment. Feel free to pick my brains If this testament has confused all you have learnt in your yoga journey.
